I was delighted to see this article on the BBC News website.
Check it out, it’s been ‘liked’, and ‘shared’ and everything. Does this mean that the reserve of the geek, getting excited about turning data into visualisations is capturing the interest of the public at large?
All signs would point to yes, with increasingly more innovative data visualisation technologies being showcased on sites like Ted.
This can only be a good thing. Being able to understand terabytes of data in a simple 2 dimensional visualisation makes the data accessible, and opens it up to more decision makers. But why stop there? With touch-screen technology becoming the norm, and 3d displays ‘getting there’, the future’s bright for data visualisation.
If your appetites are ‘experimental’ then please get in touch with us. We have done some very exciting experimental work with touch panels and the X-Box Kinect device, so we may well be able to fulfil your vision. For those with slightly more down-to-earth appetites, check out our approach to MI.
